Background

❖❖   The Open Family Initiative was founded in 2019 by Nansubuga Betty, a dedicated humanitarian who grew up in a vulnerable situation. Her personal experiences inspired her to create a resolution that led to the formation of this initiative. Having faced the challenges of poverty and lack of resources firsthand, Nansubuga recognized the pressing need for support systems for children in similar circumstances.

❖❖  After attending various workshops, lectures, and seminars focused on humanitarian goals, community growth, and development, Nansubuga was equipped with the knowledge and passion to make a difference. She envisioned a project that would not only provide immediate assistance to needy children but also empower them to break the cycle of poverty through education, health, and emotional support.

❖❖  Based in Kampala, Uganda, the Open Family Initiative aims to address the challenges faced by many children in the nation, where socio-economic hardships often hinder their potential. By leveraging community resources and fostering partnerships, the initiative seeks to create a nurturing environment where children can thrive and achieve their dreams.
